Biography
I have always been attracted to textures and color; I graduated with a B.A. in textile design from Cal State Fullerton. I became interested in weaving and basket design and started a business which thrived at the Harvest Festival and Renaissance fairs for 15 years. At the age of 40, I returned to college earning a teaching credential for secondary education in art. I taught all forms of art at Vista High School for 20 years. I have experimented with all types of jewelry-making techniques, including silver soldering, assemblage, and seed beading because of its use of color and texture. After retiring from teaching and during COVID, I learned the technique of copper enameling. It is a process of sprinkling enamel powder on pieces of cut copper shapes and heating it with a torch. I seem to have settled here. Each piece I create is unique and one-of-a-kind. I love conceiving pieces which flatter the wearer, complementing her wardrobe and personality. Some pieces are whimsical, others elegant, but all are colorful and fun to wear.
