Biography

Linda Rick is a self-taught textile artist and a psychotherapist based in San Diego, California. Her artistic journey is shaped by three major influences: her upbringing in the Midwest, extensive travels, and professional background.

Growing up as one of 14 children, Linda embraced a self-sufficient life-style, from planting gardens, to sewing and crafting quilts from scraps of fabrics.  This resourcefulness instilled in her a deep appreciation for textiles and handmade traditions. What began as a necessity -recycling and repurposing has evolved into the core of her creative philosophy, transforming overlooked materials into vibrant expressive art.

Linda’s travels across Spain, Italy, Ireland, Belize, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and beyond – have further enriched her work, introducing new colors, cultures, and ideals that continuously inspire her. As a psychotherapist, Linda brings emotional depth to her art, exploring themes of identity, resiliency, and transformation. Each piece serves as a quiet storytelling and healing the beauty of imperfection and the generational wisdom embedded in her fiber art.

Through reclaimed materials and intuitive design, Linda invites viewers to slow down, and reconnect with timeless, handmade traditions.
