Renée
Richetts
Artist's Biography
Renée Richetts is an American artist, best known for her hinged metal books and eco-fashions created from upcycled materials. Her mixed-media sculptures and Artist’s Books are on public display throughout the year, and in public collection locally at U.C.S.D.’s Geisel Special Collection. Her fashions are a regular presence at runway shows in Chicago and San Diego.
As a member of the San Diego County Arts and Culture Commission, Richetts has had the honor of reviewing work submitted from San Diego creatives for purchase by the County. She served as a member of the selection team for the new Public Health Laboratory on the County site in Kearney Mesa.
Richetts is also an RN. She knows that creating art enhances the creator’s well-being and emotional health. For over 25 years she has been facilitating art workshops to relieve stress, restore a sense of calm, and to help others use the process of creating visual art to express feelings that have few or no words.
