Biography

Wolfgang Gowin, aka Wolf in the art world, began working with clay and plaster at the age of sixteen. The sculptures got bigger and heavier, as steel, wood, and concrete, replaced clay. A few years later, big projects followed: public art in Costa Rica, Arizona, and California, and land art conversions of military bunkers in Germany. Wolf’s art is in museums and private art collections in the US, Australia, and Germany. He studied medicine, art history (the technical part), and philosophy. Wolf worked in the medical field, scientific research, and the art world. He received awards in both fields. He lives on a small pomegranate farm in the De Luz part of Temecula and maintains a studio at his birthplace in Saxony, Germany.
