Fallbrook Art Center

About Fallbrook Art Center

The Fallbrook Art Center is proud to offer a personal art experience since 1996. We are a distinguished, accessible, and welcoming nonprofit visual arts center. What makes us unique is the presentation of a wide variety of rotating exhibitions featuring works by nationally, internationally, and regionally recognized artists in a museum style setting with all works for sale. Annual shows in our main exhibition space, The Janice Griffiths Gallery, include World of Watercolor, Reflections of Nature, Galaxy of Glass, the FAC Artist's Guild, and Art of the Holiday along with two to three new shows each season. Rotating exhibitions showcasing regional artists are presented in our adjoining exhibition spaces, The Salon Gallery and The Rosalie & Spencer Lehmann Gallery.

In addition to the Center's three exhibition galleries, the Center is home to the Café des Artistes, a visually exciting art-filled Cafe' featuring a gourmet Mediterranean menu, wine, beer, specialty coffee drinks, and soda fountain treats. Owner Michael Calvanese was convinced, through his own experiences dining at museums, that Fallbrook would be a great place to add the ambience of art to its own historic soda fountain--one of only two that remain in San Diego County.

Our mission statement: To provide a venue for arts exhibition and awareness to serve the varied communities of the region by providing visual art of the finest quality with related educational and interpretive programs while collaborating with our community's cultural organizations for shows and special events.

The Café des Artistes

The cafe is nestled alongside an expansive art gallery. When we were there it was setting up for a wonderful American Watercolor exhibit. The infusion of the artistic element really heightens the dining experience.

The thing I value most about my dual roles is the interaction with people. People are the core connection I have with Art ... who created it, what were they feeling, what were they attempting to say ... how do I feel as a person viewing it ... this is what art is about to me – a truly personal experience.

The Art Center is a welcoming institution for artists around the country.

Volunteers are vital to our success. By volunteering at our Front Desk, you are helping maintain the vitality of Fallbrook's Historic Downtown. The Front Desk Receptionist greets our visitors and handles sales of art, both from the show and from our gallery store, The Find. An art background is not required – we provide full orientation training for this very important role.

We have two 3-hour daily shifts (Mon-Fri); 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm.
